New York Graphic Society Cityscape You can almost smell the smoke and hear the rumble of the trains in this gritty cityscape of an industrial port of a large city. Boxcars sit patiently by the docks waiting to unload their goods into the holds of the waiting freighters. The artist’s use of dark, subdued colors and shading enhances the urban look of the piece. Somewhat reminiscent of the Ashcan School of painting. It is unsigned with the NYGS copyright in the lower left hand corner. Professionally framed and matted. The frame has a few nicks and scratches. Lyn Keirns “Homestead” Acrylic on Canvas.
The colors of this 1970 painting seem to burst from the canvas. A large cupola topped country barn sits atop a small hill next to a shack possibly used for curing and smoking meat. A couple of chickens search for loose grain next to the open gate of a spilt rail and picket fence. A large tree displaying the brilliant fall colors of orange, red and yellow has begun to shed its colorful coat as the cold days of winter approach. The work is done in somewhat of a primitive style. Signed “Lyn Keirns” on the lower left hand corner. Double framed with a few nicks and scratches. Image size 16” x 36”, overall size 21” x 41”.

You'll swear this one was painted on board ... until you touch it. This is one of our larger pieces at an overall size of 49" X 68", and an image size of 41.5 X 62.5", but it's also one of our most detailed, AND our most precious. The painting is signed "A.M." and, whoever the artist was, he or she certainly didn't skimp on quality, right down to the shading on the petals and leaves of the flowers.
